Wuhan
Wuhan is the capital city of Hubei province and is the most populous city in central China. It lies at the east of the Jianghan Plain, and the intersection of the middle reaches of the Yangtze and Han rivers. Arising out of the conglomeration of three boroughs, Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang, Wuhan is known as “the nine provinces’ leading thoroughfare”; it is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city. It is recognized as the political, economic, financial, cultural, education and transportation center of central China.
Wuhan is one of the first batch of excellent tourist cities in China and holds the Wuhan International Tourism Festival every year. Wuhan has unique natural scenery and distinct climates in four seasons. It has 166 lakes and many mountains that are rare in other metropolises. The cultural landscape has strong characteristics of “Chu” culture. Famous attractions include Yellow Crane Tower Park, Yangtze Bridge, Huangpi Mulan Cultural and Ecological Tourism Zone, Chu River Han Street, Hubu Lane, Happy Valley and so on. The Cherry Blossom Avenue of Wuhan University also attracts a large number of tourists to Wuhan every year.
